Mayor Carl Law

Mayor Law first moved to Burkburnett in May 1958. He is married to Eloise and they have 2 children and 4 grandchildren.
They are members of the First Baptist Church. He has a B.S. Degree from Midwestern State University and a M.A. from St.
Mary's University in San Antonio. He has a high school teaching certificate in social studies, an elementary education
certificate, and is a certified counselor. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea. Law retired in January 2007 as Dean
of Medical Training for the Air Force. He is an honorary Medical Service Corps officer. He was a member of the
Burkburnett School Board Trustees for 12 years and has served in several civic and church leadership positions. He is
a member of the Sheppard Military Affairs Committee, North Texas Regional Planning Commission, and the BISD District
Improvement Team. Mayor Law was elected in May 2007.

Mayor Pro-Tem Bill Lindenborn

Commissioner Bill Lindenborn first moved to Burkburnett in October 1957 as a proud dependent of an Air Force family. He settled here for good in 1971 upon his father's retirement from the United States Air Force. He married his High School sweetheart, Cherry and they have two grown children and five grandchildren. They are active members of Jan Lee Baptist Church. Bill is a longtime Sales Consultant at Pruitt Ford and Lipscomb Chevrolet here in Burkburnett. Bill is a past member of the Burkburnett Volunteer Fire Department. He has supported the local youth programs by coaching and sitting on various boards and committees of the Burkburnett Little League and Boys and Girls Clubs. Commissioner Lindenborn was elected in May 2009. He currently serves on the Burkburnett Development Corporation Board of Directors and the Hotel Occupancy Tax Committee.

Frank Ducos

Commissioner Frank Ducos moved to Burkburnett in August 1991. The move was the result of Lieutenant Colonel Ducos being assigned to the 80 th Flying Training Wing, Sheppard AFB, TX as a T-38 Instructor Pilot. He and his wife Susan were married in 1970 at College Station, TX. They have two grown daughters, two granddaughters and two grandsons. Commissioner Ducos has a Bachelors of Applied Science, Mary Hardin Baylor, 1973, Masters of Applied Science, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, 1986, and was a Registered Representative(financial) and Agent(insurance) 1993. He is currently employed at Sheppard AFB, TX as a T-38 Simulator Instructor. Providing academic and flight instruction to Euro NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training (ENJJPT) pilot training candidates. Commissioner Ducos is a member of the Burkburnett Rotary Club, where he has twice served as President. A member of Texoma Flight #29, the Fraternal Order of Daedalians, where he has twice served as Flight Captain, and a member of the Burkburnett Roustabouts. He has also served on the Wichita Grand Jury, and the Wichita Appraisal District's, Appraisal Review Board. Commissioner Ducos wants to help guide the operations of all the divisions of the City of Burkburnett to ensure they are operated in the most efficient and cost effective manner for the citizens of Burkburnett.

Municipal Court

The City of Burkburnett Municipal Court is located inside City Hall at 501 Sheppard Rd. The hours of operation for the Municipal Court office are 8 am - 5 pm and can be reached by phone at 940-569-7331. The Municipal Court handles all ticketed violations given by The City of Burkburnett. These citations can be paid in person in the office or online.

Court is held in the Municipal Court Room, located next to the Police Station at 208 E. Fourth St, the first and third Tuesdays of each month. The Court Clerk is can be reached at the above phone number or at to answer any questions you may have.

An 18 hole Championship Public Golf Course located 5 miles north of Sheppard Air Force Base on FM 1177. The course rating is 69.9 with a slope rating of 104. It is a 6800 yard course with a par of 71. River Creek is open 7 days a week with tee times available daily.

Facilities include a fully stocked pro shop, snack bar, banquet room, driving range and putting green.

Lessons are available by a premiere PGA club professional. Available services include private or group instruction, tournaments, handicapping and club fitting.

Community Center
735 Davey Dr.

The Community Center has two rooms available for parties, banquets, weddings, receptions, etc. The large room (Auditorium) is 7,400 square feet and holds up to 500 people. 40, 8' tables and approximately 460 chairs are available for the auditorium. The small meeting room is 1,080 square feet and holds up to 50 people. 10 round tables (60" diameter) and approximately 60 chairs are available for the meeting room. Both rooms are adjacent to kitchen facilities.

Deposit Requirements

  • A deposit fee of $200.00 is required for reservation of either room.
  • A deposit fee of $400.00 is required if alcohol is to be served. A permit is also required for the serving of alcohol.
  • The deposit for the reservation must be made no later than one week after the request for a reservation has been made.
  • Any reservation not confirmed by the required deposit within the one-week period, will be automatically cancelled.
  • Deposit will be forfeited if facilities are not left in as good condition as when rented.
  • Deposit fee will be forfeited if cancellation notice is not given 72 hours prior to the reserved time, with the exception of a sickness or death in the family.
  • Deposit will be returned to renter upon verification by staff that facilities are left in good condition and keys have been returned.

Senior Citizen Activity Center

Mission Statement: To strive to provide services and activities that will enhance and enrich the lives of the elderly.

Established in 1978, the Senior Citizen's Activity Center is open 8:00 a.m. to 4:00, Monday thru Friday. Services provided daily include Meals on Wheels and a Congregate Meal Program. Transportation is provided by the Center for medical appointments, prescription pick-up, beauty and barbershop appointments and grocery shopping. Blood pressure screenings are provided three times monthly. Blood sugar screening and nutrition education are provided once a month.

The Burkburnett Police Department is dedicated to a standard of excellence in promoting and maintaining a safe and peaceful community. We serve in a community partnership to preserve order, protect life and property, enforce laws and ordinances, and safeguard individual liberties. We conduct ourselves according to the highest ethical standards and treat others with fairness, dignity and respect. We pledge to manage our organization with professionalism, leadership and integrity. To accomplish this mission, the Burkburnett Police Department is manned with a compliment of 19 sworn full-time officers, and one sworn Reserve Officer. The department currently consists of a Chief of Police, one Lieutenant, three Sergeants, two Corporals and twelve Patrol Officers. The department is further divided into a communication department with four full-time and three part-time communications operators, a criminal investigative division, narcotics division and a patrol division (including bicycle patrol). Additional members of the department include: a Certified Arson Investigator, a Fire Marshall, an Emergency Management Coordinator, and a SWAT Team.

The patrol division is the nucleus of the department. The patrol activity provides 24-hour service, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Responsibilities include the apprehension of criminal offenders, repression of crime, preliminary investigations, traffic enforcement, accident investigation, ordinance enforcement, preparation of criminal and incident reports, community relations, testifying in court, and other public service requests. Assistant City Manager

Mike joined the City of Burkburnett in December, 1999. During the last thirteen years he has served the City of Burkburnett in various roles including Water Treatment Plant Operator, Code Enforcement Officer and Water Superintendent. Mike was appointed Director of Public Works in January, 2007. His duties include, providing administrative direction for the Water Treatment Plant, Water/Sewer Department, Street Department, Parks and Recreation, and Planning and Zoning Department. He also coordinates the work of his departments with all state and federal government agencies and community partners.

Mike, his wife Karrie, and their children, Kaylin, Noah and Emma are members of Legacy Church of God where they enjoy participating, fellowshipping and growing in their faith. His family is also active in various sports associations in Burkburnett. Mike and his family are proud to call Burkburnett their home.
